Step 5: Using the straw, insert one end of it into a bottle of distilled water. Put your finger over the other end of the straw to keep water in the straw. Without removing your finger, place the wet end of the straw over the cotton; then remove your finger from the end of the straw to release the water. Make sure the cotton is damp, not dripping wet.
